📋 How it works
Hungary requires a digital e-matrica tied to your license plate. Buy online or at petrol stations. Can be purchased before or immediately after entering Hungary. Cameras verify at motorway access points.
⚠️ Without a vignette
Cameras check every plate. Driving without a valid e-matrica is a pótdíj (surcharge), not a police fine: 27 790 Ft if you pay within 60 days, 95 730 Ft after that.
